Late for an interview...any comeback in that situation?

i was about 3/4 mins late for an interview. Im not from the city, so i got a cab thinking he should know, but he got a bit lost. I rang about 10mins before i was due there to say i might be a bit late. The interview itself went good....anyone ever got a job after being late for the interview?

the worst thing is that one of the requirements of the job was punctuality :-(

you are crazy, 3-4 minutes is nothing as far as punctuality is concerned (especially when you phoned to let them know - things like that happen).

good luck!

truth is always a good place to start
Just apologize but offer no excuses.

If you are quality, it shouldn't matter. Make sure you are early if there is a second interview.
next time, just tell the truth - the cabbie got lost or traffic problems
If you are a well qualified candidate, it shouldn't make a big difference in you being considered for the position. You were mature and courteous to call and notify them that you were running late, so that looks favorable.

I have never been late for an interview, but have interviewed people as a store manager and if they were late for a good reason, it did not have a lot of negative bearing on the interview.

Good luck.
its not the best first impression but hopefully they will look past it since you pre warned them, no bodies perfect
Hi,

I've been late for an interview and still got the job, twice! So don't worry about it, 3-4 mins is hardly detrimental. If you have what they're looking for I'm sure they'll over look it. The ony thing is when you're late it means you have no time to prepare and you could have come across a little flustered. But hopefully you'll be fine
